An emergency landing was made by Qatar Airways flight (QR 964 DOH-DPS) at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad outskirts of Hyderabad in the early hours of Saturday .
As one of its pilots suffered a heart attack on the 14 hrs long flight. The flight was flying from Doha to Denpasar airport in the Indonesian capital of Bali.
About 240 passengers, crew were on board. As per airport authorities, the co-pilot Andre Dinu (34) a Romanian by nationality complained severe pain in heart and lungs.
The other pilot immediately consulted the RGIA air traffic control for permission for emergency landing. Airport doctors attended to him immediately after landing. As the co pilots condition was critical, he was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospitals at Jubilee Hills at around 1.20 am.
His condition is said to be stable. Alternative arrangements were made by Qatar Airways for the stranded passengers to reach their destination. The flight left for Denpasar airport at around 03:03 hours.
